Project 2: Letters to France

To enrich Year 6's study of MFL (French), we have formed a link with a school in Savigny-le-Temple, France. For this link, we have written letters in French, showcasing the knowledge we have learnt in our French topic, 'Moi' from Autumn 1. The children in France, have written back in French, testing not just our writing skills, but also our reading skills. We were fascinated with French handwriting and how they form their letters differently to ours. From this, we looked further into French schools. We compared them to ours and discussed what we liked and disliked about them. This has given our children a real-life context to our French lessons along with a cultural experience. We will continue this letter exchange throughout the year, focussing on the vocabulary taught during our MFL lessons.
