Questions asked by parents

Questions about the residential visit.

If you have any questions regarding your child visiting Edgmond hall, then please contact the school and I will be able to meet with you or have a phone consulation.

On this section I will add any questions that parents have asked so that these can be shared with you.

What time will my child need to be in school?

Your child will need to be in school as normal. We aim to leave between 9:20 - 9:35, this all depends on all parents bringing children on time.

Where does my child need to go with their luggage in the morning?

In the morning, from 8:30, your child will be able to bring their baggage to the main reception, teachers will be waiting to support you. The children will be registered and checks carried out.

Please ensure that the main recepetion office area is not blocked for other parents. You may wait either outside the school or in the cafe area. (your child does not need to go to their classrooms)

Children will not be required to wear school uniform. Please ensure that they are wearing suitable clothes and footwear as first session will be as soon as they arrive.

What time will my child return back to school on Friday?

We plan to leave Edgmond Hall at 1:30, typically this would mean that we are back in school by 2:45. If there are delays, the school will either text or send a message on Schoolcomms, please do not call the school asking for arrival times.

Will my child need any money?

Your child will not need to bring any money with them as their wil be nothing for your child to purchase during their stay.

What are the meal choices and food during their stay?

We have selected two meals for their stay, based on food consumption at lunchtime.

Meal choice 1 - Jacket potatoes with a variety of fillings.

Meal choice 2 - Fish fingers, potato wedges, peas and beans.

We have been assured by Edgmond Hall, that chidlren will be encouraged to eat the meals that are available. The aim is for children to try  foods available with their peers, no child will remain hungry during their stay. From our experience, all children will have something that they are able to eat.

At breakfast times there will be a range of food items, cereals, toast, juices etc.

For lunch, chidlren will make their own sandwiches with drinks and snacks as they will be out doors during this time.

What will the bedrooms be like?

The residence comprises of 60 rooms.

The accomodation that the children will be staying in will be a room of 16 children and a smaller room for 6 children. Older children will occupy the smaller rooms.

All rooms are gender divided as are showering facilities.

Can my child take games and toys?

We kindly request that children do not bring with them any type of electronic device as school insurance will not cover any loss or damage to their equipment.

If your child would like to bring a small teddy with them, then this will be acceptable.
